Can You Say Anxiety???


These are precarious times we live in. Most of us have not been exposed to such a global pandemic, and do not know how to react with the dilemma or to believe what we hear. Public schools have closed. Colleges and universities have closed their doors to face to face classes, and public places such as bars and restaurants have either closed or severely limited their hours. We are told to stay inside unless absolutely necessary for food or supplies. However, the grocery shelves are empty and toilet paper is a valuable commodity. Small businesses are in danger of closing permanently, and many people are out of jobs. Parents are having to home school their kids, and professors are struggling with new technology to continue their classes online. Students are stressed because they don't want to study online, and some are ignoring warnings altogether and exhibiting dangerous behaviors on Spring Break. Some of our cities are on or close to complete lockdown until further notice.


No, this is not another episode of a horror movie or the latest Zombie Apocalypse! It is, however, the time to take a breath and just relax for a moment. We all need to find ways to a healthier mind and body. Exercise, yoga, meditation are all great forms of stress relief. Read a good book. Binge-watch your favorite shows. Talk to your friends, neighbors, and family via digital means to keep the positive karma flowing. Volunteer in your community to bring food to those that cannot get out. Post signs of love and kindness and stand outside nursing homes to show that we are still here and thinking of them. I know times are hard, but it will pass, and we will survive. Why???? Because that is what we do
